How to take care of your tiles

Artistic ceramic or travertine tile flooring is magnificent in your home. It gives its own style to a modern home. So, if you are constructing a new home or renovating it, you should consider getting high-quality tiles from the company that is supplying the UK with travertine tiles and other types of tiles. The products that they are offering are very durable, and after years of using them, they will still look the same as they did the day you installed them in.

To keep your tiles look like brand new, you need to know how to clean them. So, in this post, we are going to talk about how you properly take care of your tiles.

Proper cleaning

2Most of us think that wiping the tile downs with a wet towel will do the job, but that is not always the case when it comes to tiles. Anytime you walk from outside, you leave dirt behind, and if it doesn’t get cleaned properly then it will scratch the tile, and that will take the gloss from it.

Spills need to be cleaned up and dried fast; this will keep the shine. If you delay the cleanup, it will only let the dirt settle in the tile making it almost impossible to clean up.

Maintenance schedule

To have that high gloss and spot free looking tile you will need to perform cleaning on a schedule. The best way to mop is to have a flat head mop as they are easy to move around, and they will not leave streaks behind.

You will need to sweep at least two times a day and then mop a least two times a week or as needed. If you have a pet, then it would be a good idea to have a steam cleaner for tile floors.

Cleaning the grout

3To keep ceramic flooring looking its best, you will have to maintain the grout between the tiles cleaned. When it comes to grout, a mop sometimes is not enough. They make a special brush that will clean the grout the right way.

A lot of people use a toothbrush instead of wasting money on a grout brush. You have to be careful because you can use a cleaner that will wash out the grout. Using a mild soap should do the job, without hurting the grout.

Build up will start to happen if you only mop your floor. You should take some time at least two times a month to clean the grout.
